Nursery/Junior School and Preparatory School Headteachers: Robyn Allsopp and Brodie Bibby Bursar: Elaine Lucas
North Bridge House Preparatory School is a co-ed independent school for children from 2 years and 9 months through to 13 years. The school consists of a Junior and Nursery School located off Fitzjohn's Avenue, Hampstead and the Prep School on Gloucester Avenue, Regent's Park. The majority of girls leave at 11 (Year 6) and the boys at 13 (Year 8).
At North Bridge House we aim to ensure that every child realises their full potential. Alongside successful academic, sporting, artistic and pastoral achievement, we emphasize an environment that encourages good manners, tolerance, consideration for others and a strong sense of social responsibility.
North Bridge House is a very happy and successful school and the children are given the best possible preparation for their senior school.
Nursery
The Nursery is accommodated in a spacious Victorian villa containing bright, attractive classrooms and a large, modern gym. It backs onto two large, safely enclosed playgrounds which offer plenty of opportunities for play and exercise.
Junior School
Most children spend three years in the Junior School before moving on to the Prep. The children participate enthusiastically in a wide range of activities both inside and outside the classroom. They continue to develop their academic skills, as well as their creative and sporting abilities in a caring atmosphere which prepares them well for their future education.
Prep School
Children move to the Lower Prep at Gloucester Avenue at Year Four. All classes are taught by a form teacher with specialists for Music, French, PE and I.T. At age ten girls are prepared for entry to London Senior Schools with exceptional results. The boys move up to the Upper Prep after Year 5. In their final three years, boys are prepared for entrance or scholarship examination to the Public schools at 13+. The boys study all the normal subjects for Common Entrance including Latin and in some cases Greek.
